World Class Diving Show Comes to Oakwood
World-class high divers will be performing a series of amazing stunts as part of an extraordinary new show which opens at Oakwood Theme Park next month.
The Wild West High Diving Show features a team of hugely experienced athletes from across Europe who will be diving from heights of up to 25 metres into an eight-metre wide pool of water which is just two metres deep.
¬†It’s the first time this type of high diving show has come to Wales and organisers at the Pembrokeshire park are confident it will prove popular with visitors.
¬†“The five-person dive team who will be taking part in the show are based in France and made up of international athletes who have competed at the highest levels,” said Oakwood Theme Park’s Andy Hygate.
“They have performed all over the world including America, South Korea and Malaysia and the show, which will have a Wild West theme, is truly spectacular.
¬†“We’re already at work constructing the outdoor performance area here in the park and the shows themselves will run throughout July and August,” he added.
Described as “aerial theatre”, the show is a mixture of comedy, music, acrobatics and high diving.
Five specialised high divers perform incredible acrobatic feats. Individually and in synchronisation, at times with fire, twisting and turning from up to 25 metres in the air, they land in a two-metre-deep pool.
Set in 80 acres of spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside, Oakwood is one of the UK’s leading theme parks with more than 30 exhilarating attractions; including four world class rides to enjoy.
