Wipeout to remain open at Pleasurewood Hills
Despite years of complaints and disputes with neighbouring residents, Pleasurewood Hills can now sleep soundly knowing that Wipeout, a Vekoma Boomerang, is here to stay.
Wipeout, the park’s signature Rollercoaster, was bought in 2007, from the defunct park, American Adventure. However, since installation, residents have been unhappy with the amount of noise produced by the ride.
Councillors have, however, revised the maximum noise level allowed, thus allowing the ride to remain in operation, whilst also ensuring the ride does not get any louder.
A report on the case states: “The proposed change is reasonable in the context of the efforts made by officers, the park’s management, engineering team and equipment suppliers over the period since the ride was installed. The revised wording would allow the ride to operate, while protecting neighbours against a rise in noise levels from the Wipeout ride,”
Pleasurewood Hills management feel the park would be a much less viable day-out should Wipeout be removed, and that it could compromise the park’s abililty to remain open.

Good for Pleasurewood Hills!! Just like Alton Towers and its delightful, local residents in Alton, these people should embrace and support their local theme parks. Just think of all that local employment, tourism and money that these attractions bring to the area!
