UK Park News Visits Great Days Out Fair
The Great Days Out Fair is hosted at the Museum of Museums in Manchester, just opposite the Trafford Center. It is the largest one day Group Travel event in the North, designed perfectly for group travel organisers whether you organise trips for schools, local clubs and organisations, young groups or senior citizens.
The¬†event isn’t just for travel organisers however, there’s lots for regular visitors to do:
Meet over 200 attractions, destinations and operators from the UK, Ireland and abroad.
Join a Regional Talk hosted by experienced Blue/Green Badge Guides, find out more about a region you have always been curious about but never visited.
Take a seat in The Entertainments Arena with live animal displays, cookery demonstrations and more.
Take a tour around the show with a Blue/ Green Badge Guide who will introduce you to attractions right for your group.
Jump on the Busman’s Holiday coach for an up close and personal tour of The Trafford Quays Leisure Village.¬†
We stopped for a chat with Lightwater Valley’s Marketing Manager Mr Ashley Young who told us everything is
looking set and¬†on¬†schedule for¬†the opening of their new Pirate Adventure¬†Land “Skeleton Cove” on Saturday April 9th 2011. The park’s exhibition also had¬†a live Pirate¬†on deck (Mr Simon Edward, Lightwater’s new Marketing Assistant)¬†who was ready to¬†brief passing shipmates on¬†what can be expected in Skeleton Cove later this year. UK Park News even tried to do battle with the fiesty Captain, and we can¬†confirm it would be prudent not to cross him, that is unless you¬†want to be walking the plank from the Black Pearl this¬†Easter!
Also present was the Park’s professional magician Mr Paul Roberts, who took the time to show us a couple of his magic tricks, whilst talking about his role at the park this season. If you see Paul the next time you’re on park, make sure you take a moment to watch some of his up-close and personal magic – it’s really quite exceptional; he left us completey dumbfounded!
We were surprised to see however, that popular theme park Flamingo Land were not present at this year’s event.
Remember, UK Park News will be featuring a full Skeleton Cove review in April 2011. Until then, why not read our full Lightwater Valley Review which we featured on the site back in July 2010, or the Halloween Frightwater event from October 2010.
