Skyride to Operate During Peak Days Only at Alton Towers

Skyride to Operate During Peak Days Only at Alton Towers

In a move that is likely to cause much controversy, TowersTimes have today announced that from tomorrow, Alton Towers’ popular transportation system, Skyride, shall remain open only on ‘Peak’ days during the 2012 season.

Used by a vast amount of guests daily, Skyride transports visitors between three areas of the park, Towers Street, Forbidden Valley and Cloud Cuckoo Land. Areas which otherwise require a substantial walk to reach.

This is the third time that a decision has been made to alter operating times. The first two being the closure of Submission and Enterprise, two flat rides in the X-Sector area, as well as park opening hours being reduced to 4pm on certain days during the season. Both of these decisions were later revoked.

With tension already building on the Theme Park’s Social Media pages, could we see yet another decision put aside, or are these restrictions set to stay? Time will tell.
