Another Part of American Adventure Lives On
It has been confirmed by Nottingham City Council that this year the Nottingham Goose Fair sees the largest attraction ever, in the form of the old Runaway Train that once stood at American Adventure Theme Park!
It’s fantastic news to know this ride has been refurbed and has happily slotted into the Travelling Fair scene. UK Park News will be present at Nottingham Goose Fair this weekend where we’ll be bringing you regular live updates and a full trip report with photos. We’ll be sure to capture plenty of photos of this classic attraction, not forgetting grabbing a few rides!
Check out a video of the ride from when it was situated as a permanent attraction at The American Adventure here.
Since its life at American Adventure, Runaway Train has been completely rebuilt into a mobile attraction by Nottingham-based James Mellors Amusements, using local engineers and craftsmen.
The £1 million ride has 300m of track length and occupies a 2800 metre square area although the height of the train is no more than 8m to make it a suitable family ride. There are eight carriages each seating four passengers with a two-driver engine at the front.
