New UK Park News Website!

Today (October 17th) sees the launch of our brand new website which all our site visitors will now be able to view. The old site has served us well since it was launched however, with the workload the UK Park News team is now under, we needed to look at a more viable solution to our web management, as well as look at ways to improve the usability and functionality of the site for our users.

The new website is a far-cry from our old FTP site where we were reliant upon writing most of our articles offline, then uploading them to the site. The new system allows us to publish directly to our database, making it quicker and easier to manage – from any internet enabled PC or smart phone! This should allow UK Park News to continue to deliver high quality news, reviews and other features in a more streamlined and efficient way.

Social Networking

Along with the back-end benefits, the new website has a host of new features for our users! Firstly, the  design and page navigation is vastly improved making your online experience much more intuitive and immersive. We’ve also now introduced Social Networking integration – you’ll now see links to the most popular social networking sites appended to the majority of our news/reviews and articles.

These links allow you to instantly share your favourite items across your chosen Social Networking site such as Facebook, MySpace & Twitter.

We’ve also added the ability to comment and rate on the site – and you don’t even need to register! At the end of most articles, you’ll see a “Leave a Comment/Reply” link – simply fill it in to add your thoughts on any of our items. Additionally, you’ll notice a pair of thumbs on our articles – this system works in a similar way to Facebook’s “Like” system, however you can now give a thumbs up or a thumbs down for any item. These points are accrued, to help identify how people feel about various articles.

There are also a whole host of new additions/tweaks to the site so take a look around and let us know what you think - we’d love to hear your feedback!

Thanks to all our site visitors and to the UK Theme Parks.
Mat South – Site Owner.
