LWV Say Goodbye to Whirlwind
Whirlwind was brought to the park for the beginning of the 2010 season and at the time of installation, the park and its fans were unsure whether this ride would stay, since it was on a lease contract.Â
Lightwater Valley bosses announced some weeks ago that the ride was not to remain for the 2011 season, and this was reported on UK Park News. Sunday 26th September was the final day of the rides operation, and it will now return to the travelling fair scene. It’s a real shame to see the ride leave the park as for us, it was THE best Top Scan we’ve ever ridden. However, the park is looking to invest almost £1m in a new rollercoaster attraction for 2011, rumoured to be a looping “Whirlwind” Vekoma (ouch).Â
