Lightwater Valley Theme Park is the place to be this Easter
As the awards keep rolling in, Lightwater Valley Theme Park is the place to be this Easter.
After a host of award announcements in February, the Park added to the haul last week as it was named “Visitor Attraction of the Year” by Going Places Magazine.Â
The Going Places Awards are based on visitor’s opinions and feedback, taking into account real customers’ experience of the Park. The publication has been running for the last 20 years and is seen as a leading voice for pinpointing the nation’s major tourist attractions.Â
Ashley Young, Marketing Manager at Lightwater Valley said:
“We are extremely proud here at Lightwater Valley after receiving our recent awards. On behalf of all the staff at the Theme Park, I would like to thank the public for voting for us in the Going Places Magazine – this proves all our efforts and hard work here is paying off. 2011 will be a truly excellent year for the Theme Park and receiving the title of “Visitor Attraction of the Year” will give our staff just the boost they need to start the season.”
Not only has the park recently been named the UK’s Best Value Theme Park, The Ultimate has been voted the second best rollercoaster in Europe and Raptor Attack, featuring dinosaur-like creatures in an abandoned mineshaft, is the highest performing new attraction in Europe. These are just a few reasons why you and your family should come along and join the exciting adventures the park has to offer.
Boasting over 40 rides and attractions, there is plenty for all the family at Lightwater Valley. This season sees the launch of Lightwater Valley’s latest attraction, Skeleton Cove, with five brand new rides for visitors of all ages.
The Flying Cutlass is a pirate vessel looking to drop anchor after stormy seas and Powder Kegs will leave even the most weathered of seaman in explosive spins, as the 6 barrels are spun by not one but three separate arms. The most famous of Pirate Ships, the Black Pearl, will embark on a 360 degree voyage of the land and sky – supplying unique views of the Park. Whilst Skull Rock will test the sea legs of the crew as the miniature vessels navigate treacherous waters and, for the younger voyager the Pirate Swinger will let them take to the skies in flying chairs.
Lightwater Valley Theme Park in Ripon, North Yorkshire is home to over 40 rides and attractions. After developing from a self picking strawberry farm, rides were introduced in 1987 making it into a modern day theme park. Lightwater Valley Theme Park will re-open to visitors on 9 April 2011.
