Gullivers Win Tourism Award
Staff at Warrington theme park Gulliver’s World came out on top at a Cheshire tourism awards ceremony this week.
Gulliver’s staff were named “Team of the Year 2010” at the Visit Chester and Cheshire 2010 “Celebrating the Achievements of Talented Staff” Awards.
Ten employees from the theme park, which opened its doors for Christmas last weekend, attended the ceremony in Tatton Park’s Grand Marquee. They included an entertainer, gardener and seasonal workers.
Gulliver’s training and development manager Dean Kimberley said: “There are two special elements within our team – the core full-time staff, who provide the backbone to our business, and the seasonal staff, without whom we could not operate.
“Seasonal team members play a major role in the tourism industry yet they’re rarely celebrated for their achievements. The combined talents of our team, made up of everyone from students to retirees, have this year provided a remarkable platform to boost our company profile and that of Cheshire and the North West.”
Gulliver’s Kingdom, Matlock Bath won the same award at the Visit Peak District and Derbyshire 2010 Excel Tourism Awards earlier this year.
Gulliver’s World is open to Christmas visitors on selected dates throughout December – festive guests can meet Santa in his grotto, become a certified elf at the special Elf School and enjoy Christmas rides, attractions and snow every day. Well done Gullivers Warrington. The park is a nice gem and is a pretty park that is ideal for youngsters. Nicely themed too.
