Flamingo Land Boss Cleared of “Attack” Charges
Gordon Gibb, the CEO of Flamingo Land theme park near Malton, North Yorkshire was accused of attacking a ticket tout in July 2012.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police were called to a report of an “ongoing assault” at the site near Malton about 10.30am on Saturday, July 28, and arrived within 15 minutes. Gibb was arrested and later released on bail. He was charged on August 28.
It was alleged he beat Mr Simcock after claims that a man was selling “two-for-one” tickets just outside the main gates, without prior permission.
However the case was dropped at Scarborough’s Magistrates’ Court today, clearing Mr. Gibb of all charges due to a lack of evidence, court officials reported. Gibb had always denied the charges. He has run Flamingo Land as a family business for a number of years prior to which he was the boss at Bradford City Football club.
