Dreamland Margate: Photo Update
UK Park News takes a look at the sad site of Margate’s Dreamland. A Compulsory Purchase Order was served on 3rd June 2011 by Thanet District Council on the Dreamland site, as part of plans to regenerate the site and create a unique visitor attraction for Margate. Thanet District Council said:
“The Council does not consider that the present land owners have acted expeditiously or appropriately in coming forward with realistic proposals on any of the Order Land. It is imperative that schemes are progressed that provide a viable development solution for the whole site land that improves its appearance, improves the physical environment of the area and make it a more attractive place to live and visit.â€
From our photo set you can see there are a few rides on site including the Blackpool’s whip and Southport’s wild cat. The cable cars from Southport and the River Caves boats too. Work on the front on the prom is well underway.
