Blackpool Tower Boss Steps Down
The boss of Blackpool Tower Geoff Sage has announced he is to leave the attraction to pursue other interests.
New bosses Merlin Entertainments today confirmed the general manager would be quitting as boss at Blackpool Tower in the coming weeks.
But before leaving, Mr Sage said it had been a fantastic opportunity to work with the entertainment giants who are due to re-launch the new look attraction in September.
He added: “It’s been a really interesting few months not least giving me an opportunity to get to see some of the other Merlin attractions and to meet their teams.â€
“This was not an easy decision to make because I love the Tower and have had a great time here.â€
“However I feel the time is right to move on knowing the Tower is in good hands and has a real future going forward.â€
Merlin bosses and Mr Sage’s colleagues at the Tower are already planning a special farewell event next month and said they hoped he would continue to be a regular visitor to the attraction.
Merlin will now begin the search for a new general manager ready for the re-launch celebrations later this year.
