Alton Towers to get Multi-Inversion SW7 Rollercoaster in 2013

Plans have recently surfaced showcasing what Alton Towers’ have in store for guests in 2013.

The new Rollercoaster, codenamed SW7, joins the list of ‘Secret Weapon’ Rollercoasters, and is to include a ‘Worlds First’, as is custom with many of the Park’s Rollercoaster additions.

Located on the former site of the Black Hole Rollercoaster and Tent, the roller coaster is set to reach a height of approximately 22 meters and feature a host of Inversions.

The Rollercoaster will feature a custom layout, with up to 11 Inversions, and is expected to be a Gertslauer Eurofighter – the same model as Saw: The Ride at Thorpe Park, Staines. This is due to it’s compact layout, as well as noise assessments being conducted on Saw: The Ride as a comparison.

A portion of the proposed £20million investment shall go towards a 15m squared object, presumably theming, that the ride is expected to interact with numerous times. What this could infact be is yet unknown, however.

The full plans can be found here.
