Alton Towers Host ECCA National Cross Country Championships

Today (Saturday 19th February 2011), Alton Towers played host to the English Cross Country Athletics (ECC) National Cross Country Championships. Athletes arrived by the bus load to take part in the event, making entry to the park very busy for most of the day.

Tents, caravans, marquees and hundreds of people we present in the park’s overflow car park, near the priority parking area, which looked like more of a mud pit by the end of the day.
Athletes were seen running, warming up all over the park; if you were at Alton Towers today, you’d have been hard pushed to miss the hundreds of people covered in mud from top to toe!
